It has become apparent to me that our nation is out of touch with reality when it comes to our definition of health. Health in its true form isĀ a state in which your body is performing at its peak potential; that is, you are healing perfectly and functional at full capacity.
On the other end of the spectrum we have disease. Disease is merely the absence of health. As we move further away from health you move closer and closer to disease. Our “healthcare” system today is focused on disease, not health. We are a nation focused on disease management, not health care. We look outside the body to find the problem and attempt to “fix” it from the outside in. The result is a nation of overly medicated sick people.
Somewhere along the line we have lost sight of what it truly means to be healthy. If health came in a bottle, we would have a shortage of bottles. The fact of the matter is that health comes from within. Why is it that one person in a family seems to always have a cold and yet the other members of the family remain healthy? Everyone is obviously exposed to the cold bug, but not everyone shows manifestation of it. Why would that be? It’s because the sick person has a weakness within that allows the cold to invade and manifest its symptoms.
We need to start focusing on ourselves from the inside out, not the other way around. Our methods of “healthcare” have been failing us because they are founded on faulty logic. You can take a pill or get a shot, but have you really found the cause and fixed it? No! The underlying problem is still there, you have just covered up the symptoms. This creates a false perception of health and a nation of diseased people who are unable to experience life to the fullest.
Health comes from within, we need to make sure we are leading a lifestyle that promotes health and prevents disease. This takes an active effort to eat well, exercise and decrease stress in your life. The most important thing you can do for your health is to ensure your nervous system, your master control system which controls all other systems of your body, is functioning properly. See your chiropractor, get dialed in and start making better choices! What have you done lately to improve your quality of life? What steps are you going to take in order to start living life to its fullest? Take action and reap the benefits, trust me, you’ll never regret it.
